Colored pencil on paper, 24 x 36"
February 2016 Dusting off pieces from my childhood dollhouse, I created a scene of a casual Sunday dinner table for two, with a porcelain dog waiting to snatch the main course- a goldfish cracker. While creating this composition, I carefully took in to consideration the direct lines between objects. Dog to goldfish, plates to chairs, and teapot to bowls. Cobalt dishes contrast the golden tones in the goldfish cracker, enhancing its playful focus. A playful narrative is completed with swirling floorboards in contrasting buttery tones to the deep chocolate tones of the craftsman style table and chairs. |
