"Fall Apart to Come Together"
Wood sculpture, 2015.
4 x 2'
While transferring schools, enduring changes within personal relationships, and changing jobs, I began to feel as if many of my aspects of my life were changing. Many pieces were falling apart for others to come together, and vice versa. A pair of scissors, while simple to some, exhibit these feelings perfectly. Built in an exaggerated size much grander than the norm, these scissors tower over you and make you feel small. They perform the general action of opening and closing, coming together and falling apart infinitely, but never truly cut any ties.
